Coming to Caño Gavilan and catching a beautiful Peacock Bass that will fight you until the end is one of those experiences that you will tell and continue to live for a long time. This area of Colombia in the department of Vichada is internationally known for being one of the best Peacock Bass fishing spots in the world. We are talking about the Colombian Sabana with amazing landscapes and water trails.

What to fish

You can spin fish or fly fish for the amazing Peacock Bass (C. temensis, C. orinocensis and C intermedia), you can take video and photos with this beautiful specimen and then you can release it to maintain its ecosystem. You will also find payara, royal sardinata, arawana, pavones, striped catfish, etc.

Peacock Bass season is from January to March, we recommend you to reserve your date in advance because they are sold out. Many anglers who come here have such a good fishing experience that they reserve their spot for the following season.

New and comfortable Lodge

A new and comfortable lodge has been developed where you can rest, eat delicious BBQ's and have a few good beers around the campfire with a good conversation among angler friends. The lodge has it all, bar service, swimming pool, internet and very good cuisine.

Airstrip inside the lodge

The lodge has its own airstrip for charter trips. You fly from Bogota directly to the lodge, no need to travel by land.

How to get there

Take a flight to Bogota International Airport known as El Dorado.  Once in Bogota you will depart on a charter flight from Guaymarla Airport to directly to the Lodge which is in the department of Vichada. Ready for a fishing adventure?
