This beautiful fishermen's island, where the harbor life flows placidly, measures 37 km in length and 7 km in its widest part. It is a colonial city that is famous for its churches, its beautiful lagoon (Términos) and its impressive bridge. There are several beaches on the coast of this city.
Términos Lagoon
The largest estuary in the country with 705,000 hectares, it is a very rich reserve of mangroves and various types of original jungle. Declared a protected area for flora and fauna, the mangrove is a reservoir of species, and an ideal place for nesting birds and reptiles. If fishing is your thing, it is a good place to fish for snook, mojarra and dogfish.
